One and three quarter miles SW of St Agnes, Cornwall.
Named in Dines as Great Wheal Charlotte, there is a wide area of barren ground which appears to consist mostly of old mine waste material. The area overlooks the sea and is popular with walkers, it is easily reached by an old trackway from the nearby coast road or via the coastal footpath network.

The bob wall of an engine house survives on the site. There are also quite extensive mine waste dumps, most of which comprise relatively barren development rock waste. However diligent searching shows some areas of the dumps contain predominantly sulphide dominated mineralisation with Sphalerite and Chalcopyrite being prevalent.

These minerals can be found as crystalline specimen with a degree of luck.

The track that leads to the mine from the hamlet of Towan Cross is composed of mine waste and specimens of Sphalerite, Pyrite and Chalcopyrite were noted within it.

The mine was predominantly a copper producer. Some tin was found here however it would not appear to have been in significant amounts.
