The Dyalpur meteorite was said to have fallen in a village of Uttar Pradesh, India. Dyalpur is a small ureilite and is one of only 6 witnessed falls. Ureilites are known for their curious almalgam of cumulate silicates (mostly olivine and pyroxene) mixed with elemental carbon. The carbon itself is an enigmatic graphite-diamond mix .

The ureilites also usually contain a number of minor opaque minerals. Among these, metallic iron (kamacite) and iron sulfide (as troilite) are invariably present.

The ureilites are particularly intriguing because their microscopic textures may have been due to both vapor condensation and to shock impact. Both the relative importance and the timing of these nebular and collisional processes do not appear to be settled issues at this time.
