The mines around Khetchel village are located along the Loi Tok mountain range, between 7-10 km South of Molo village. Several pegmatite dykes along the contact zone between a peridodite body intruded in gneiss have yielded a number of minerals found almost exclusively in this area, e.g. hambergite, pollucite, phenakite, and the famous mushroom rubellites which are so far known only from the Palelni Mine.
