A vesuvianite (Californite) occurrence located in sec. 7, T17N, R7E, HM, about 1.5 km (4,800 feet) SSW of Deadman Point and about 6⅔ miles NNW of Happy Camp, along the South Fork Indian Creek.

NOTE: Coordinates provided are approximate to the center of sec. 7.

This is the type locality for Californite.
