Metamorphosed sedimentary manganese ore hosted in Paleozoic metasediments. Includes a complex rhodonite vein emplaced along a fault plane between quartzite and slate.

In Japanese articles, a deposit which has variation of yielded manganese minerals just like Kaso mine is called "Kaso-type deposit" originated from this mine name.

Characteristics of Kaso-type deposit:
mainly Rhodonite and Tephroite (thermo-metermorphorsed manganese silicates), accompanied with Braunite, Alabandite and Manganese-carbonetes with deep purple...
