Åvesland is the name of a farm about 6 km NE of the center of Evje.

The name is applied for a rather large area, in which there are many quarries. Future historical research might result in renaming several of them.
The coordinates are for the farm house itself.

NOTE:
Some of the Åvesland localities probably will need to be re-registered as nickel prospects.
In a report of the Direktoraret for Mineralforvaltning (BV302) it becomes clear that not all the Åvesland localities are pegmatites.
Field confirmation is required to establish what kind of deposit the individual quarries/mines are.
The map in the publication is not accurate enough to do this with the altitude map.
This issue concernes especially the nr. 13-16 localities.

A Ni/Cu prospect at the southwestern tip of the Storøygardsvatnet lake is not visible at the altitude map.

All in all there are 5 registered Ni/Cu prospects in this area, but only 4 Åvesland localities are registered.
