Bjørlykke (1934) registered 2 feldspar quarries on the land of the Åmland (Omland) Farm. In more recent time, after Bjørlykke, new quarries were opened and there has been prospected on dozens of places.

Only a somewhat larger prospect is added to the list over Åmdal localities.

The coordinates Andreas Corneliussen presents for Omdal 1, 2 and 3 refer to two prospects and one small quarry 150 m W of the farmhouse. See http://www.pegmatite.no. These do, however not correspond with Bjørlykke's Åmdal 1 and 2. These three will therefore be listed as Åmdal 3.

Bjørlykke wrote that Åmdal 1 was located 1km SW of the farm. A reconstruction of his map proofs that this is wrong. At his map he placed Åmdal 1 ca. 500m SSW of the farm. And Åmdal 2 is located 250 m NE of Åmdal 1.

Thanks to an altitude map with higher resolution, it was possible to locate these two quarries with a high degree of certainty. These locations correspond well with an aerial picture of 1972, where it is possible to see fresh white pegmatite rock.

NOTE on the name of the Farm:
In older literature the name is consistently written as "Omdal". On the online maps, both "Omdal or "Åmdal" is used.

Ronald Werner asked the state authorities what name has priority, and got the follwing answer:

Når begge skrivemåtene står som godkjent, er begge juridisk sett likeverdige, inntil det er reist navnesak og et av skrivemåtene blir vedtatt.
Vi vil likevel anbefale skrivemåten «Åmdal» etter å ha vært i kontakt med navnekonsulent for Østlandet og Agderfylkene.
