"Rozalia" zinc mine was established in 1855. Due to problems with flooding, mining was abandoned in 1893. From 1895, it was used to supply water to nearby towns, including Katowice, Bytom and almost the entire area of today's Piekary Śląskie. After 1945, the mine buildings served as workshops. Currently, the area is used by Górnośląskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów (Upper-Silesian Waterworks).
