The Königsgrube is an abandoned slate mine, located just a few hundred meters west of Antfeld, on the eastern slopes of the Ochsenberg.
The slate deposits in this area belong to the northeastern part of the Rheinisches Schiefergebirge, in the area between Meschede/Brilon and Bad Berleberg.
The Schiefer in this area dates from the Lower - and Mid Devonian period.
