This small copper mine was in discovered in 1817 by Colonel Hall and its peak operation took place between 1818-1826. Mining appears to have been revived in the 1850s but was reluctantly abandoned after considerable investment (most notably the construction of a whim engine) and little or no ore output. The mine also produced minor amounts of argentiferous galena.

The remains of the overgrown opencast is visible today along with 2 shafts and an adit portal. The adit level runs about 50m to the east and has 2 internal shafts connecting to a lower level (visible in the open shaft).
