Operating quarry working the Crackington Formation. Opencast generally barren of minerals with the exception of several smallish bands of the darker shales (Emburey shales), conspicuous by their darker colour and presence of fossiliferous septarian nodules ranging in size from a few centimetres to several metres. Minerals (mainly Fe/Cu)occur either within (in fossil cavities)or coating the septarian nodules or within the shales.
