Val Piana, Valle di Darengo (Val Darengo), Provincia di Como, Lombardia, Italia


Val Piana is a right-side valley of Val Darengo. Val Piana stream joins the Darengo stream near the Dangri village.
Val Piana is easily accessible by a road that rises on the left just before the church of San Giacomo. Continuing along the narrow road you can reach the stream bed.

In the stream bed there are boulders consisting of peridotite with nodules of pyrope and olivine (forsterite). It is possible to find also isolated blocks of pegmatite containing beryl, tourmaline, and garnet.
