From Santa Maria between Las Mojarras and Fuerte Quemado (all SW of the current location, in Santa Maria Department of Catamarca Province) and part of the Valley, there are alluvial terraces, i.e. alluvium of current rivers, arenas bearers of garnets of medium-sized to fine, they would attempt to concentrations, from the destruction of the crystalline basement of the Sierra of Aconquija, western slope. Sometimes these concentrations are of some importance, having not been exploited until now.
