La Novedad mine, Quebrada Tocante, Huacalera District, Tilcara Department, Jujuy, Argentina

"La Novedad" Thorium Deposit Department Tilcara, Jujuy Province, on the "Quebrada Tocante", 4 km above its mouth in the "Quebrada de Yacoraite" and about 25 kilometers west of the town of Huacalera located on route national Nº 9. Elevation: 3,800 meters above the sea level.
System of veins embedded in quartzite Ordovicics with Siderite veins maganiferous carriers of thorium minerals in sandstones of the Tremadonciano. Power 0.15 - 0.20 m, travel up to 1,000 meters.
Various surface work was performed. ThO2 average: 0.15 - 0.20 per cent. Primary mineralization: Thorogummite, Monazite, Thorite, Siderite, Iron oxides, Calcite, Baryte, Quartz, manganese oxides.
