The Sinkwa (Elephant's Footprint) mining area is situated at the bottom of a hill, NE of Kyauk-pyat-that. The mining site has been known since the last century. Rubies, zircons, purple and other fancy colored sapphires of all qualities are recovered from the alluvium. Most of these gems are small in size and of medium quality. - Ted Themelis (2008) Gems and Mines of Mogok
