Officially the Autonomous Province of Trento in English and Provincia Autonoma di Trento in Italian (German: Autonome Provinz Trient, Ladin: Provinzia Autonoma de Trent).

From 1815 to 1918 this territory was part of the Austrian and Austro-Hungarian County of Tyrol and was known in German as Welschtirol (or Welsch-Tirol or Welschsüdtirol).
