Outcrops of North Mountain basalt along the Bay of Fundy. This particular region is less mineralized than other nearby areas, especially to the east.

In 1863 Henry How discovered mordenite here. No freestanding crystals have been reported; it is found as massive nodules, generally mixed with other zeolites.
