Fetherston et al. states chrysoprase is found 40 kilometres north north-west of Ora Banda, and 'Citron' magnesite at Goongarrie Hill itself, with no active mining.
A now defunct internet page, showed in recent years (2013), a local specimen miner with pictures of large amounts (boulder size) of chrysoprase from Goongarrie, with the mine for sale. Heron Resources in 2003 reported chrysoprase was mined for them in a trial pit by tribute miners.
A visit to the mine in 2016 revealed the workings have been completely covered over with overburden. The mine is on the north side of Goongarrie Hill.
