The reference only states the deposit is a few kilometres south of Spargoville, where rose quartz is being mined from the core of a pegmatite.
Chiastolite crystals to 100mm in length are found within the micarock aureole of the pegmatite. The surrounding andalusite schists, and associated eluvial gravels contain a dark red with orange hue staurolite, as angular broken pieces, heavily included with dark iron oxide stained fractures, with gem quality material rare. Garnets have also been found. It is believed the lease is active with a local specimen dealer(2013).
