Old mining works in Zn-Pb deposits (mainly exploited from 1852 to 1882) to the east of Priola in the valley of Chiapparo stream, a minor right tributary of River Tanaro.

Different types of sulphide-rich, lens-shaped mineralizations, affected by polyphase Alpine metamorphism: sphalerite-galena massive sulphide bodies, pyrite-rich lenses and sulphide-rich quartz–carbonate-chloritoid granofels.

An exhalative origin is suggested.
The massive sulphide lenses share many characteristics with SEDEX deposits.

Furthermore, quartz + calcite + magnesiocarpholite veins occur in clasts along the Chiapparo stream.
