Peckham Industries Pleasant Valley Quarry; Dutchess Quarry & Supply Co. Inc. Quarry
A very large multi-tiered aggregate quarry which is operated as a subsidiary of Peckham Industries.
Workings are in Wappinger Formation rocks; dolostone, limestone, and shale. The quarry is near totally unmineralized, however one occurrence of large calcite crystals in a dolomite breccia was encountered. Small vugs of quartz, calcite, and dolomite are also encountered with extreme infrequency.
