"The mine is situated a few hundred metres straight up from the Woods Point Hall and is part of the Morning Star Mine complex. The entrance and access is barred by blackberries. Originally known as Scott & Cherry and later as No.1 & 2 North Gold Mining Co. The reefs worked were the Cherry, Hope and Drysdale. The total production until 1867 would have been close to 50,000 oz. of gold. The mine was probably abandoned before 1900, although one exploration drive seems to have been worked at a later date."
