Pan-taw (Flower Field).
1) Small mining concerns work in the alluvium mining spinels of all grades, yellow sapphires, and fewer rubies. Some of the sapphires are good quality, of faceting and cabochon grades, usually weighing below 2 ct.
Gem mining is carried out using open-pit, letkya-dwin, lebin, inbyae and myaw-dwin methods (Themelis, 2008).
2) Pink tourmaline, amazonite, topaz (excellent, colourless to slightly tinted crystals), large size quartz, colour-change fluorite (bluish to purplish), rhodochrosite, jeremejevite, and some rare minerals are also found in the nearby pegmatite dyke.

NOTE: The coordinates refer to the open pit sapphire mine. The pegmatite locality is situated at 22Β°57'45.00"N, 96Β°24'15.00"E.
