Přísečnice (German: Preßnitz) was a mining town in the Ore Mountains that was first noted in 1335, when John of Bohemia granted the inhabitants an exemption from customs. It was disestablished in 1974 due to the construction of the Přísečnice Dam; though the region was already underpopulated due to the post-WWII expulsion of the German population.
Ag and Fe mining since the 14th century.
An old, classic, vein-type Ag-Co-Ni-Bi-U deposit, situated in the central Krušné Hory Mts, near Vejprty. The whole old town was demolished in 1973-1974 to make space for a water reservoir; the city now lies underwater. Nowadays many old mines are scattered around the reservoir dam and some of them offer a possibility of mineral collecting. Except for Ag-Co-Ni-Bi-U veins, there are also fluorite-baryte veins and iron skarn bodies.
There are also some neovolcanic bodies, rarely with zeolites.
