The Morrua deposit covers an area of 0.8 km² close to Rio Melela. Pegmatites hosted in amphibolite are exploited in large-scale mining for Ta and gem minerals.
After Schappmann (2005) the pegmatites are of 4 types: Type 1: Microcline-pegmatite. Type 2: Microcline-albite pegmatite with spodumen. Type 3: Albite-cleavelandite pegmatite with spodumene, lepidolite and sparsely pollucite. Type 4: Spodumene-lepidolite-cleavelandite pegmatite with pollucite.
