Inactive limestone quarry and protected area since 1996.

This impressive tracksite of the Middle Jurassic contains the oldest and longest sauropod tracks known in the world. The dinosaur footprints/tracks in this quarry were originally made in carbonated mud, which was very fine and easily shaped, and then got deposited in shallow lagoon conditions. The sediments present in the visible strata of the tracksite were later transformed into limestone, which was quarried on the site until around 1994.
