Burning coal-mining dump. Mineralogy and geochemistry strongly resembles that of the La Fossa crater of the Vulcano volcano, and somewhat the famous Tolbachik volcano of Kamtchatka.
Some of listed minerals are questionable as the determination is based on PXRD only (strong reflection overlapping occurred). On the other hand, some Zn-, Cu-, Mn-, Tl-, Pb-, Sn-, Bi-, Br-, I- and In-bearing interesting species were also observed via SEM-EDS.
The local salammoniac (1 find of large ~3-cm-long skeletal xls - a single but rich find) may contain large amounts of Br plus some I, alongside with n0 - n00 ppm concentrations of thallium and bismuth.
The (NH4)3(Zn,Fe,Mg,Mn,Cu)Cl5 phase, green, is Cu-bearing and Fe-free, with parameters: a = 8.69(2), b = 9.9(3), c = 12.647(4) (most likely more than a single phase is involved, though). Other unknown & potentially new mineral species probably standing for tiny admixtures in some samples include "alumogenite" [Al(H2O)6]2(SO4)3•6H2O, "metabasaluminite" Al4(SO4)(OH)10, (H3O)Al(SO4)2 phase, FeCl2(H2O)4 phase, MnCl2•6NH3 phase, (NH4)2[MnCl4]•2H2O phase, (NH4)MnCl3 phase, and(NH4)K2Mg3Cl9•18H2O phase. A single phase, Al3(SO4)2(OH)5•9H2O, was found as relatively monomineral accumulations at a single spot.
Recently, still more aberrant species were discovered:
* NaCNS•2H2O phase (sodium cyanate dihydrate - that would be the first cyanate mineral),
* (NH4)4(PO2NH)4•4H2O (ammonium phosphimidate tetrahydrate - the likely first phosphimidate mineral),
* K5Na(S2O6)2Cl2 (potassium sodium dithionate chloride) - it may be the first natural (crystalline) compound with formally pentavalent sulfur
* Na2S2O3•5H2O (sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate).
A single find denotes colorless to orange sal ammoniac with very high content of Br and traces of I, alongside with Bi, which was initially thought to be due to inclusions of nataliyamalikite but is now (2022) confirmed to be due to a new mineral species that is chemically a iodobismuthate.
The Cu sulfates are associated with a copper selenite- (selenate?)-sulfate.
