This prospect contains a tiny shallow pit, probably an exploration exercise to verify a Ni sulphide anomaly. It is located 1 kilometre north of Gnarlbine Rocks, rather than Queen Victoria Rocks to the south, and 200 metres west of the road, about 40 kilometres south-west of Coolgardie, based on source maps. Exploration company Emu Nickel is noted as finding 4% Ni in sulphides at the prospect from drilling in 2008, with plans to validate the occurrence shortly after.
Located in a small remnant of mafic to ultramafic rocks, and quartz-biotite schist. Originally explored by Spargos 1971 to 1973. The lens is coarse grained polygonal textured metadunite, 1370 metres long, and up to 690 metres wide. The dunite is serpentinzed, containing anthophyllite. Metamorphic orthopyroxene is in some of the dunite. Average grade 0.83% Ni. The source sheds little light on Ni sulphides.
Hannans Ltd is currently (2016) drilling the Queen Victoria Rocks prospect.
