Hopkin's mine is reported to have consisted of two shafts, 60m and 25m deep respectively, with galleries at depth following a sulphide zone. The dump is heavily overgrown and contains about 300-500m3 waste rock.

The Hopkins mine is considered part of a regional ( together with the Linderot mines , and the Raumyr and Teigemyr areas) hydrothermal system dominated by quartz-chlorite-pyrite. Minor pyrite and chalkopyrite can be found on the dump, associated with chlorite.
