Boyce Creek Ni prospect is 10 kilometres east of the Yerilla Station homestead, and about one kilometre north of the Kookynie-Yarri Road.
It is a joint venture between Heron Resources Ltd and Shanshan Ningbo.
JORC Inferred resources at 24 Mt @ 0.81 Ni (with a 0.50 Ni cut-off). Considering most profitable nickel mines in Western Australia operate at 1% Ni or higher, they need a rise in prices for the metal or reduced costs. Shanshan trialled a new process involving the segregation of nickel and cobalt, but it did not work out.
Mineralisation shows at the surface in places, but generally is covered by on average 15 metres of alluvium. The deposit is a shallow laterite deposit with nickel found in nontronite.
The company also owns the Jump Up Dam prospect, 25 kilometres to the south-east.
The site contains a trial pit, some buildings, and ore pile.
