Ytraland skjerpene, Karmøy, Rogaland, Norge
There are several small pits and prospects in a 1,5 km long NNW trending zone from Ytraland towards Kvalavåg. Greis (1957) lists 34 prospects, part of a larger prospecting survey on Karmøy between 1885 and 1910. The sulphide occurences are found in an up to 50m wide shear zone, which consist of chalkopyrite and pyrite in schistose, chlorite rich and partly silisified metagabbro.
The main workings is a reportedly 40m deep shaft with a 350m3 dump in which ore samples can be found.
