This is the best reported place to collect samples of the Chilca Unit, there are outcrops of Pelitic schist, Blueschists and Eclogite of La Chila unit in this small area.
La Chica unit is the central core of Raspas ophiolitic complex,consist principally of pelitic schists (70% of the unit) with lesser amounts of blueschists and eclogite. The age of La Chilca unit is 132 ± 5 Ma (Feininger and Silberman, 1982). The list of minerals of each rock is listed below:

Pelitic schists: Quartz, phengite, paragonite and garnet, with lesser amounts of graphite, rutile, pyrite, Mg chloritoid,± Kyanite.

Blueschists:Glaucophane(more than 50%), garnet, paragonite, phengite, muscovite, epidote, rutile, ± quartz, ± apatite, ± pyrite, ± sphene, ± albite, ± calcite.

Eclogite: Omphacite, garnet,barroisite, often with lesser amounts of clinozoisite, rutile, quartz, ± apatite, ± pyrite.

Note: the outcrop of the eclogite is partially covered with aluvial sediment, it is a bit difficult to spot, but it is very easy to find loose blocks of eclogite in the river.
