The mine produced 446 tonnes of ore at 18.58 g/t yielding 270.75 ounces of gold.

It is reported alluvial miners Peel and party had struck the lode in their shaft early April 1898. Later in the month the mine for the company is on exemption. This did not stop the company having the nine alluvial diggers on the lease arrested.

They had been here from the beginning, but then discovery of a 40 foot wide deep lead, saw them dig shafts deeper than 10 feet. This was against the mining regulations, and was the preserve of the reefing mining company.

Conviction could see a one month imprisonment, and there was general consternation about the case from hundreds of men digging alluvial gold on the goldfields.

Due to the large number of old shafts and workings in the area, the Mindat co-ordinates are approximate.
