The Leslie Gold Mine is directly opposite and south of the Mount Monger pastoral station homestead, and just west of the Mount Monger Road and Mount Monger South Roads. This small area contains several historic shafts, headframes, and other 'stuff' from the olden days, protected from pillage by its proximity to the homestead.

Silver Lake Resources drilled the site in 2009. Limited information was found for around 1940 for the location, however later a local prospector obtained grades averaging 21.8 g/t.

Angus William Duke owned the lease in the late 1930's. GML 5616E. In 1935, four crushings are noted of 82 ounces from 24 tonnes, 185 ounces from 37 tonnes, 144 ounces from 27 tonnes, and 76 ounces from 19 tonnes. A further 44.5 ounces from 19 tonnes is reported in 1938.

New Milano N.L. take out a twelve month working option over the mine in 1940, and development work continues into 1941. Shortly after the option expires, the company takes Duke, to the Warden's Court, requesting for forfeiture of the lease for non fulfilment of labour conditions. The Warden fined Duke, probably recognising an unfair land grab.
