A former W mine located in the NW¼ sec. 25 & in sec. 24, T7S, R32E, MDM, 5.2 km (3.2 miles) S of Bishop, on the lower N slope of Sunland Peak, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Coyote Southeast Wilderness Study Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body is 45.72 meters wide and 121.92 meters long. A tactite zone is largely concealed by granite sand and large granite boulders which have slumped from the ridge to the S. HR. AGE. MV: Altered siliceous rock. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 100 foot shaft inclined steeply southward. There is an irregular series of small stopes and short drifts. The shaft bottoms in granite.
