Government geologist Gibb Maitland visited the site in 1908, stating it was eight miles south of Marble Bar, on one of the Coongan River tributaries.

There was a great rush he states in 1892, although only a small amount of gold was found. Reef mining was concentrated on a narrow north-west to south-east ridge, but had been long abandoned by 1908.

Gibb Maitland then describes three further leases in the area, all under the name Just in Time. The first is GML 114, later called the Great Cement Lode GML 251, 6 acres, applied for by Dunsford and Hogan (surnames) in 1894. They dug a tunnel into the ridge 48 feet long.

A company was formed in 1897, called the Just-in-Time Company with John Angove as manager. The first trial crushing at the Stray Shot mine battery was very dis-appointing, and the company folded.

The second is GML 155, which includes the old Lady Dorothy GML 103 lease. The Lady Dorothy had been applied for by Bunger and Church (surnames) in 1894, and was eventually merged with GML 155. They had dug a tunnel 79 feet long. The lode was overlain by a bed of sandy shale, occupying 20 feet of the tunnel.

Lastly the Just in Time Extended GML 164, 20 acres, applied for by Jason Roe in 1895. This was part of the old alluvial ground. The lease was voided in December 1897. A shaft to 35 feet deep had been sunk on the face of a hill through conglomerate, with much stoping from the shaft. The conglomerate is overlain by fine grained and drab coloured sandstone.
