A few hundred metres past the Federation mine on the Skull Springs Road, a track heads a few hundred metres north into hills. The prospect is a bulldozed area.

Explored in 1987 by Growth Resources NL, finding 5 to 30 g/t Au in quartz veins, with lower grade mineralisation associated with sulphidic host rocks. Late 1995, Tupperglenda drilled in the vicinity of the old workings, on a small hill with a ridge extending west, finding gold at 4.05 to 8.18 g/t. In 2002, 10 holes were drilled in the western section of the deposit, and a further 4 holes in 2003 finding grades at 4.30 to 8.27 g/t.

JORC Measured Resource 202 000 tonnes at 1.65 g/t for 108 000 ounces; Indicated 60 000 tonnes at 1.18 g/t for 2 300 ounces; Inferred 52 000 tonnes at 1.15 g/t for 1 900 ounces, all with a 0.5 g/t cut-off. Millennium Minerals has explored the area in recent years, calling it the Camel Creek Area. This includes the prospects Junction at its most westerly, Roscoe's Reward, Little Wonder, and Round Hill at its eastern end, all close to the Skull Springs Road. Open pits are planned in the near future for all locations.

The Junction Mine has historically produced 79 tonnes of ore at 4.9 g/t yielding 12.43 ounces of gold between 1939 to 1940.

Gold is found in shear zones with a moderate to steep south-east plunge.
