Alluvial gold deposits in fine sediments along the Orba stream bed, in the Tiglieto Plain area. An attempt to exploit these deposits was made in the second half of the 19th century.

Tiglieto Plain is a flat area of about 30 hectares, which represents one of the major excellences of the Beigua Geopark territory, not only because of its geomorphological features, but also its cultural historic and monumental values.

The stratigraphy of the area is characterized by alluvial deposits with intercalated ophiolitic blocks.

The Abbey's plain is therefore explained as a fluvial-lacustrine deposit, due to the barrier, at least partial, of the Orba stream originated from a likely collapse/landslide along the wide slope that limits Bric della Bandita to the east, in the western sector of the plain.
