Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Birdsboro Quarry, Clingan Quarry, Glickerville Quarry, Robeson Quarry

A crushed stone quarry in Jurassic York Haven Diabase, located approx. 2.7 mi NW of the center of Birdsboro.

The property was first purchased by John T. Dyer in 1911 to increase production and secure a shipping location on a rail line other than the Wilmington & Northern Railroad, which serviced his nearby Trap Rock Quarry at Birdsboro/Hay Creek. This quarry has been in continuous operation to varying degrees since its opening, with the exception of a short term closure in 1990, when it was purchased by Waste Management Inc., in a failed attempt to repurpose the property as a landfill. In 1998 the property was purchased by J.T. Anderson and its name officially changed to Dyer Quarry Inc. (Anderson Companies, 2012)

This quarry was known by several names (Birdsboro, Clingan, Glickerville and Robeson) and variously located at Glickerville and Robeson (Station), which no longer appear on maps. Gibralter is the local town now used to differentiate this quarry from the Dyer Trap Rock Quarry currently operated by Haines and Kibblehouse, just south of Birdsboro.
