Small disused roadside quarry in Tertiary basalt. Situated On private property on the Sledge Track road west of Scottsdale.
The basalt is locally highly vesicular and zeolitised. Also locally it is peridotite xenolith-rich and nepheline-bearing, and notable for some large olivine crystals.

The locality is commonly referred to as the West Scottsdale Quarry, as well as Briggs Quarry, Sledge Track Quarry and Springfield Quarryy. Some large forsterite crystals were collected in the 1960s-1970s along with smallish vughs ~30 mm in diameter, containing phillipsite, natrolite, gonnardite and some calcite, but little good material remains.
