Tropoja is the northernmost massif of the Mirdita Ophiolite, which stretches over 120 km as a 20 km to 40 km wide belt in Albania. The largest part of the massif is situated in Kukës County, while a little portion (here omitted for simplicity) is located in the neighbouring Kosovo.
