A Victorian era working for copper likely worked from 1842-6. The 6" Ordnance Survey map marks an "Old Gold Mine" at this site. There are no visible remains of any mining activity today and the site has been completely reclaimed for agricultural land. The landowner recalls deep holes being filled in "many years ago" with machines.
The landowner implied that the large holes were a little further to the south-west just below the road in the general vicinity of ITM 585283 839401.
The 6" map marks "Old Gold Mine" at ITM 585367 839574.
There is no disturbed ground at either location today. A number of large modern drainage ditches cut the site but show no mineralized spoil.
