Epithermal Au-Ag vein system. Multiple epithermal quartz-adularia-carbonate mineral veins extend from the surface down to ∼400 m depth. The veins are hosted in Cretaceous volcanic rocks belonging to the Paradero del Desierto Formation.
The weathering of the hypogene mineralization extends down to 200 m.
Includes Illusion vein, Mejillones vein, Santa Rosa vein, Esperanza vein, Montevideo vein and vein 10.
Geologically similar to the El Pe˜nón deposit.
The property is owned by SQM Inc. (Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile).
Located 60 km ENE of Antofagasta.
