The Lower Permian granophyric granite crops out particularly on the right side of Rio Carpane. An abandoned granophyre quarry is located NW of Boarezzo; also the epithermal Pb-Cu mineralisation located NNW of Boarezzo (see Boarezzo Mine) is associated with granophyric granite. From a granophyre outcrop near the mine, the presence of small brookite crystals in the miarolitic cavities has been reported (Guastoni et al., 2004).
