If it hadn't been for aerial pictures, it would have been impossible to recognize this and the Hundevassmyra 2 as quarries.
An aerial picture of 1976 clearly reveals that the Hundevassmyra 1 locality is a quarry.
But this locality, the Hundevassmyra does not exist in that year. And there is no sign of a small pond too.
A later aerial picture (2005) clearly shows a water-filled hole. But also obvious is that all activity ceased for many years ago, since the quarries are already very overgrown.
It is not known what kind of quarry this is. There is no clear indication that this might have been a feldspar quarry.
