Trachyte outcrops along the flanks of Monte Vignola (135 m), a small hill located to the south of Treponti and to the north of Luvigliano.

Tiny crystals of quartz, whose colour varies from colourless to smoky to amethyst, and quartz paramorph after tridymite are found in trachyte fissures.
