Located on a small southern branch of the Te Puru Stream, the next valley south from Waiomu. When inspected in 1912 the site was abandoned, with two collapsed adits.
The reef trended north-east, 1-3 feet wide, with well defined walls, and patches of ore distributed erratically. The upper levels contained wires or threads of gold up to 9 inches in length within quartz cavities. They would have made impressive specimens, but no value was placed on mineral specimens in the late 19th Century.
A ten stamp battery and aerial tramway had been erected before it was discovered only the near surface was gold rich, and at depth the ore grades were very low. The project was soon abandoned, and the battery removed. The Mindat co-ordinates are very approximate.
