The meteorite was discovered in the summer of 2015 by a group of gold prospectors on the river terrace of the Mukhtunny stream (tributary of the Wakit River), 4 km west of the village of Wakit, Bauntovsky Evenki District, Republic of Buryatia. Currently, one sample of the meteorite has been identified.
