Ropaži (or Sienāži) Dolomite Quarry is a Late Devonian (Daugava suite) dolomite deposit located near Ropaži village. Like other quarries (Jaundutkas and Dutkas quarries), it is a not big quarry for the extraction of crushed dolomite.

Exploring the quarry, our team could not find anything for a long time. But we still managed to find a small outcrop which was rich in calcite specimens (D. Vorobjov - 01.09.2018).

In the quarry, one can find cleavage calcite fragments of different size. Basically, most of the calcite specimens which can be found in this outcrop are white, but one can also find specimens which have a yellow colour. Some fragments may have a poorly developed crystal shape.
