An aggregate producing quarry opened in 1996 by Franzefoss Pukk A/S.
The main rock is a Silurian sandstone of the Holmestrand Formation, Ringerrike Group.

A banded rhyolite with spheres of volcanic glass is found in the quarry, and it is sometimes used by local amateur geologist to make polished and different-shaped jewellery, like cabochon.
